In this episode of our 'Building The Dream' series we talk to Matt Kavanagh. Initially, it was Matt’s dad, Ian, who approached White Box. Ian attended one of our property network events in 2017, wanting to do something more in property. After buying a few HMOs around the country, he wanted a bigger challenge and wanted to bring his son Matt into the business.
Matt and Ian converted an old doctors surgery into seven apartments when they first joined White Box. That development was good experience, but the education from White Box spring-boarded them into what has become a hugely successful development business.
Fast forward to today, about five years after having started with us, Matt is now a White Box mentor and helps other people get started just like he did, and just like we did in 2014. Matt is more than qualified to help people in our eyes now, as he has developed, and is developing, 10 sites in total. Ian has now stepped back from the business to work on his golf game and focus on getting his handicap down to single digits.
Matt will tell you that a big turning point for them was when they attended our Business and Personal Development Retreat in Bali in 2019. We gave them a tangible plan to follow and pursue...
